Emergency Steering System – Chadburn, England

In the event that the hydraulic rudder control from the bridge fails, an emergency steering device has been devised as a back-up system. The rudder is operated in the steering room. Using a telegraph system, rudder commands can be transmitted from the bridge to the person operating the rudder.
