Apothecary, Drug Chest – England, ca. 1870
Particularly nice ship’s or travel pharmacy in mahogany transport box with brass flat folding handle. The upper part opens and shows 17 blown glass bottles with fitted stoppers. Some bottles have residu from drugs. To the back is a sliding pannel with internal closure to reveal four bottles, know as the poison section. The drawers below contain all kinds of tools such as scales, marching cups, mortar, weights, etc. The finish is in fine condition on this historic chest. With key.
